Liberals rejoice! David Gregory has "resigned" from NBC News entirely, and Chuck Todd is the new host of Meet The Press on NBC Sunday mornings. Andrea Mitchell is to be the backup host and will serve as a central figure in the new broadcast, according to NBC News President Deborah SomethingOrAnother. I actually feel really bad for David Gregory. His name has been through the mud for months now. I don't think he is so polarizing as a person, I think the last few years' style and editing on MTP have been forced down his throat. Will this move increase the numbers for Meet The Press? I know I will watch. I think this gives NBC News another edge over Fox News Sunday. I also think this has been in the works for months. Chris Jansing of MSNBC recently left to take a White House Correspondent position at NBC News. Chuck Todd has long handled most serious White House briefings and reporting. I see Jansing taking over most of Todd's roles in that area. I also think Chuck Todd will continue hosting The Daily Rundown on MSNBC.
