Shannon Sims Joins TODAY’S TMJ4 as Weekend News Anchor

Milwaukee, Wis. — Shannon Sims is joining TODAY’S TMJ4 (WTMJ-TV) as the station’s new weekend anchor.

Sims grew up in California and has worked at stations throughout the country including KREM in Spokane,
WVEC in Norfolk and WKEF/WRGT in Dayton, where she was the main anchor. Most recently she was a freelance reporter for Cincinnati’s FOX affiliate.

“Shannon is excited about coming to Milwaukee, loves breaking news and believes in our mission of making
life better for people in Milwaukee. We are excited for her to be part of our weekend newscasts,” said Bill
Berra, vice president of news for Journal Broadcast Group.

Sims is a classically trained singer, graduating from Manhattan School of Music in New York with a bachelor of arts degree in Classical Vocal Performance. In 2012 she was named Citizen of the Year by Omega Psi Phi
Fraternity and IWMA African-American Women in Media Excellence Award.

Shannon's first day at TODAY'S TMJ4 is Monday, April 29.
