The former WMCS-AM has changed its call letters to WZTI-AM (1290) and adopted the slogan "Martini Radio.

According to a press release, the station will play "standards from the 'Rat Pack' era with more contemporary artists with a throwback sound." Artists mentiontioned include Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Michael Buble, Adele and Norah Jones.

For 20 years, WMCS-AM (1290) programmed a talk and music format serving the African-American community. It dropped that format earlier this week.

The change was described as a "business decision" by Bill Hurwitz, vice president of the Milwaukee Radio Alliance, a partnership of Willie Davis' All Pro Broadcasting and Times Shamrock Inc.
