WTMJ is more of a Full Service/News/Sports format outside of the midday Conservative block.

WISN's actual format is Conservative Talk in the same way WXXM in Madison, WCPT in Chicago is Liberal talk. That's the format intent. In most cases, Conservative talk stations like WISN tend to run a lot of Lifestyle/Non-Political shows (many of them brokered) on the weekends.

Talk prior to that was more aimed toward females and was for the most part non political. General interest talk. NBC had TalkNet for example. People would call with their problems. Bruce Williams, Sally Jessy Raphael, Tom Snyder. Larry King (who later moved to CNN) did his late night interview show on Mutual (WTMJ ran this show I believe) which is now basically the modern day Jim Bohannon show.
