Just thought I would share that I was part of Arbitron's ratings for Madison, WI about 2 weeks ago. Some of you may recall that I worked in the business for about 30 years, till 2001.

What amazed me is that NOTHING has changed over all these years?! They sent two new $1 bills in the letter "inviting me to participate" (short demo questionnaire). Then $4 more when my one-week "pocket diary" arrived. And a promise of $10 more for a returned (usable) diary...

My point is that it essentially the identical system they explained to stations in the 1970s.. paper diaries tabulated in Laurel, MD, etc.

Also NO branding of Nielsen whatsoever. Arbitron diary, Arbitron return address, etc.
