if they arent going to flip it and they want advertising dollars, the station is doing alright in the ratings - why change whats working?

mitch henck, really? this is the progressive voice madison has been missing?? i mean alan colmes is decent, up against fox news pundits and his radio show is okay. i love thom, and stephanie is my can of snapple and bag of skittles each day.

actually, where they could have done something interesting would have been to hire someone like sly (i know, ugh) or someone else who is a bull dog in madison or wisconsin. what the format is missing is a bull dog like ed schultz was, plus some stability among the legacy players and a deeper bench.

to elaborate on the stability comment, the reason rush limbaugh has gained such success is because conservative listeners are confident they will turn their radios on and there rush will be as usual without much doubt. i cant remember where, but someone recently wrote a pretty nice dissertation about why fox news channel is so succcessful and its chiefly because fox stands behind its onair talent, to the extent of refusing to accept resignations. i mean they didnt even fire gregg jarrett, a weekender and fill in anchor who got into a drunken brawl with airport bar patrons and then cops at LAX. bill oreilly has been proven a liar in his reporting claims and fox didnt budge at all.
