They don't really sell many commercials at WGLB honestly. They have a lot of brokered preaching from local Churches. WJYI for example makes almost all of it's income from brokered preaching and some talk and the Saturday Ethnic programming. They don't play music anymore.

As for WGLB, They also have the WGLB Record Store

The station itself is owned by Joel J. Kinlow, who happens to be the pastor of El Bethel Church Of God In Christ. Has been the case since he bought WGLB and the former WGLB-FM (now WPJP) Port Washington back in '96.

WGLB-AM was a Daytimer at the time. It was still broadcasting towers outside the same studio WSJP-FM originates from in Saukville. The old WGLB studio.

The studio for the AM was moved to Milwaukee when Kinlow flipped it to Gospel. They ran it as a rimshot targeting Milwaukee. They wanted to go 24 hours from the start, so they had to figure out a way to do that.

Finally they got on the air with their 24 Hour operation now licensed Elm Grove in 2001 at the tower site which is currently shared with 1460 WJTI along the Zoo Interchange in West Allis.

They used to specifically say on the old website that the signal "Reaches as far as Racine" back when it was a Daytimer. It really didn't, I think the old Port Washington site made it about as far south as Wind Point.

Now with more power, they'll be able to not only cover Racine, but as you mentioned more of the Milwaukee area with a stronger signal.

At night however, it will remain the same.
