Shocker: The usually aggressive Rupert Murdoch has thrown his hands in the air about acquiring Time Warner Cable, after the cable company rejected an offer a couple weeks ago. It was thought that Murdoch and 20th Century Fox were going to take a stronger stance and try a hostile takeover. CBS was positioning itself to buy CNN from Fox to appease regulators that had already expressed concern over Fox owning both CNN and Fox News Channel.

Remember when AOL and Time Warner Cable merged in what was supposed to be the move that took over the entire world?
